CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

The WRALN believes that everybody in Waterloo Region is responsible and has a role to play in increasing physical activity at the population level: individuals, groups, not-for-profit organizations, schools, businesses, health professionals, funding agencies, physical activity service providers, colleges and universities, Region of Waterloo, and local governments.   Do your part. Join any of the working groups below and share your talents, experiences, and time to make Waterloo Region a healthier community.

Marketing & Communication
Main task for this working group is to develop and implement the marketing and communication strategy for the Movement to Move- Everyone has a role to play!  Campaign

 

Resource Development

 

This working group will create a tool kit to support the Movement to Move- Everyone has a role to play! Campaign.  The toolkit will provide parents, citizens, community groups, organizations (daycares, community centres, etc) tools to get kids moving, enjoying active play , healthy food, and feeling good about themselves

 

Networking/Education

 

As part of this working group you will be working with others to:

 

  • Organize the Kick – off Event for the Movement to Move Campaign

  • Organize other networking/education workshops/ events for 2016 (Bring back play, conversations cafés)


Research & Knowledge Exchange

Are you interested in research, program evaluation and how current research in physical activity could be used by people who work locally in the fields of physical activity, sports, recreation, fitness, etc. ?  Join this working group and help the WRALN to: 

 

  • Develop an strategy for working with local universities in the promotion and knowledge exchange of physical activity

  • Connect with university contacts to develop the evaluation of the Movement to Move- Everyone has a role to play! Campaign 

     

Fundraising

Are you passionate about fundraising and helping community groups to develop their potential?  The WRALN needs you to:

 

  • Prepare a long term fundraising strategy for the WRALN,

  • Explore funding opportunities

  • Prepare grant proposals 

 

Volunteer development

Join this working group and help the WRALN to develop its capacity and leadership in this area as we work to involve everybody in active play, physical activity, sports, recreation, or any type of movement across the Region.  A core task for this working group is to

 

  • Develop a volunteer recruitment plan to support the Movement to Move- Everyone has a role to play! campaign

If you are not a member but are working in the area of physical activity, sports, recreation, fitness, and/or active living or are just interested in getting everybody active and healthier, we INVITE you to become a member of the WRALN and work with us.  We are looking for CREATIVE and COMMUNITY ORIENTED people like YOU for our working groups
